Hi, folks,
We were hiring a handyman/carpenter to build a fridge cabinet and some other kitchen renovations. We’ve agreed on $700 for the labour cost plus reimbursement for the materials. Today I got the quote for the materials:
2 x laminex wood mdf boards = $320 each
1 roll of edging = $95
1x white hmr board & edging = $95
This is out of my expectations as I can find much cheaper price online for the raw materials. So I asked him and his answer was:
“The pricing Ive given u is the full process from raw materials to fabrication not just raw materials from a distributor.
- pickup or delivery,
- cnc design & processing, machine set-up, cut & edge banded.
This is what the factory charges me...”
I wonder is it normal or very overcharged? Should I go with this guy?
