I'm living in battle axe property. There's a house in front.
There is common driveway of 19m long.
It looks like its the driveway for the back property only. But it's a common driveway. Front property owns the share.
Leaving like 10 m long driveway for front property car reversing (way more than required length for front owner to reverse just in case) I would like to have a slatted gate after 10m of drive way.
The council was fine with me putting a slatted gate in the common driveway. But front property owner does not like it insists that its a common driveway.
Can someone please help me with the above issue. What can I do to have a secured gate in common driveway. Is it correct to do so.

Why don't you install the gate at the beginning of your property? You won't need front property's approval. I'm suggesting this because it appears he doesn't want a gate. If you install it on your property, you can do as you like.
