Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 07, 2021 11:23 am Very concerned about expanding crack at the front of our garage. 25 year old home, cut and fill site on clay soil. Crack appeared many years ago (15 -20) but has become significantly worse over the last couple years. Looking at our driveway which has sunk 10cm over time, filled soil obviously compacting. Not only has the crack become wider but bricks underneath appear to be crumbling. Hubby not concerned so won’t pay for structural engineers advice. Internal bricks seem fine but a worry if this should progress - very visable at the front of the home and bricks no longer made. All advice appreciated - including recommendations for domestic structural engineers in Melbourne’s Outer East.
