Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 17, 2021 6:02 pm Hi, I'm curious about the pro's & con's of composite decking I'm considering using Duralife decking on a new pool build in Brisbane but it will get full/hot sun all day. Can anyone provide feedback on whether the decking is likely to get any hotter than timber decking, and if so is it unbearably hot? Many thanks Re: Composite decking getting too hot in direct sun? 2Feb 17, 2021 6:46 pm My experience the composite decking gets just as hot as a well oiled decking with timber and pretty much the same with concretes. If you are doing around your pool in full sun i would use Stone Pavers like 20mm travertine as they dont get as hot. Anything left in the sun will get hot regardless of materials. Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil. It will look 10 years younger and add value to your home. Visit for… 1 11263 Hi, as per the subject. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best value decking oil (Bunning is close to where I live) for a treated pine deck? Thanks 0 1290 Hey guys, what’s everyone opinion on James Hardie linea direct fix to frame? Would this be the most common method and anybody ever had any problems down the track? 0 3790 |
