Following on from my external wall issue....
We've been trying to think of what is a cost effective way of cladding or rendering the outside of the house when we replace the logs with external boards (I do like the sound of the styrene type ones).
Anyway, it suddenly dawned on me... we have access to A LOT of bluestone... my parents bought enough bluestone (a house that was demolished) to build a blueston house. They ended up buying the next door property which had a house already, so never built.
Now it's been sitting out in the back paddock for the better part of 20 years... so we'll have to dig it up most likely.
BUT... my question is, does anyone know approximate prices of getting bluestone cut?
I'm hoping it will be cheaper to get it cut and clad in bluestone. Since the actual stone is free we might as well try and use it!
