Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 08, 2008 10:58 am I’ve noticed something a bit…well, not ideal. I don’t think there’s much that can be done about it though.
The internal walls of our apartment seem to be plaster (only external walls are concrete block/cement brick cavity or whatever) and so if you even so much as lightly scrape the wall with a picture frame (when trying to hang pictures for instance), it’ll leave a major black scrape mark and the other day we were trying to hang a picture and accidentally lightly (and I mean lightly) bumped a corner of it against the wall, and now there’s a visible dent. Dammit! We just got it all painted! We’re scared to touch the walls now. They’re so soft!! Is this normal? How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: Ultra soft walls! 2Oct 08, 2008 11:55 am Sounds like you have standard gyprock walls (Plaster of Paris with cardboard on each side). If you knock on the walls, do they sound hollow? Sounds like cardboard. lol How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! I've dug some footings to embed a post anchor into. My holes are around 450mm deep which I'll put a 200mm stirrup into. The bottom of these holes seem firm enough. … 0 3314 Render your bathroom walls, two opinions versus the one, makes you wonder. 3 6062 The spacing of the studs looks pretty large especially for a load bearing wall. 3 11116 |
