It stopped producing cool air just after lunch time. Once the temperature outside cools it generally works again eventually. This is a common problem in our house. We have had 2 aircon places out to check it and both say there is nothing wrong with it. It is a big unit so I thought they are designed to work on these hot days?? Aircon experts please weigh in. Our house is a 30+ year old catherdral ceiling house meaning there is no insulation in the roof. We also have 2 big skylights that beam the heat straight into the house. We covered these up last summer but the ducted air still errored out on the hot days and just couldn't cope. Last summer we had some extremely hot days 45+ and it did not cope at all despite turning it on first thing in the morning. We are getting someone out to come and install a 9.5kw split system aircon in our lounge room so hopefully that will work and be a backup for when the ducted can't cope. Has anyone else's house got the same problem? Our unit isn't that old I think it is just the design of our house that makes it impossible to cool on really hot days. This is fun considering I am 28 weeks pregnant and summer hasn't even started yet! It is currently sitting at 30.4 degrees inside the house and our ceiling fans are just circulating the hot air. We are surviving on ceiling fans currently. Here is a pic of the error and a pic of the unit outside. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Any advice?
