Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 29, 2020 8:46 pm Hi all, I have had our 3 month defect inspection about 2 months ago and the builder agreed to fix the plastering joins that can be seen across many of the walls. They and we signed the maintenance report agreeing to these repairs along with a few others . They are now saying that when their plasterer inspects they may not end up repairing the joins if the plasterer doesn't think it is required (i think if they had doubts, they should have done this prior to signing off on the defect list) My question is: Is the signed 3 month defect list binding despite what the plasterer says?Given that this is happening after the agreement was signed? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Re: 3 month defect 2Oct 30, 2020 2:29 pm We had a similar issue. Our builder came up with all sorts of BS excuses not to rectify including "Well I can't see what you are talking about" and "If you leave your curtains closed you'll never notice it" So expect the plasterer to say he cannot see any issues. You're, no doubt, in for an argument. Your builder will just say yes they agreed to repair - anything the plasterer deems necessary to repair.
