Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 16, 2020 11:34 am Hi there, We are building in VIC Metro which is over 50km from where we are currently living. Handover is happening in 2 weeks time. In preparation for our move in date, we need to put the fencing up. Is it allowed to travel in this case to meet the fencer so we can discuss our requirements as it's a bit difficult to explain off site? We would like to secure the property as I've heard few burglars in the area but at the same time I'm worried about the penalty as the amount is huge. Is there anyone who has done the same? Thanks Re: Traveling during lockdown VIC - moving in preparation 2Oct 17, 2020 9:35 am Housetohome Hi there, We are building in VIC Metro which is over 50km from where we are currently living. Thanks The rules are bit confusing my friend, in some cases even the police is not sure. As building a house comes under essential, but not sure about fencing and driveway appointments. I'M in the same situation as yours even we have booked an appointment on Monday for fencing and not sure about rules. Lets wait till tomorrow's announcement and see the outcome.
