We will have our PCI hopefully by next week according to our site supervisor. I have told him that I will engage a private inspector. But I was told that the builder does not allow due to company policy. They will allow private inspector after the handover.
I mentioned that in the HIA contract that owner’s agent is allowed which can in this case can be the private inspector.
Still I got the same answer that their company policy does not allow private inspector before the handover and they could not show me where in the signed that this is mentioned.
What can I do in this situation?
Should I just bring the inspector along with me on the PCI day?

I would engage the inspector now and ask them to sort this out. I would have a personal policy that I will not attend unless my representative is afforded free access.
