Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 05, 2008 2:46 pm Last week we put in a request for Tender which we should be getting back this week sometime. However in the mean time hubby and I have come up with some changes (oops!) nothing structual that would change the size or shape of the house - just moving rooms around upstairs.
Does anyone know if this is too late? Will they need to price it again for us? We haven't paid any form of deposit or signed anything as of yet - just had the site inspection and gave them our original plan with list of inclusions we'd like. Re: Changing plans after going to tender... 6Oct 06, 2008 9:10 am Wouldn't changing rooms around be considered a structural change? Re: Changing plans after going to tender... 7Oct 06, 2008 9:28 am It didn't for us. We moved around our e/suite, WIR & bedroom layout totally. Also moved a coupel of walls to the other bedrooms. This was all possible at tender stage, right upto the point of drawing up of Variations. You only cant once you've gone pass contract stage? I could be wrong tho. Re: Changing plans after going to tender... 10Oct 07, 2008 6:56 am I'd make sure everything is correct before going to your local council for approval - not because of rooms - but more because of window positions and whether you overlook neighbour's bedrooms or private living areas. After 4 years - we're in! changing layout 11Oct 17, 2008 10:48 pm Definitely agree with the previous 2 comments. Layout change can mean structural change, which will affect roof structure especially in a double brick construction. If this is the case, you will need to get a revised tender.
You can definitely change any layout before sign of contract, however, it is recommended to talk to your designer & engineer before signing contract.
