Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 20, 2020 5:26 pm Hi Fellow, My house is 7 years old in Victoria. I just noticed that the roof has cracked as shown in the attached pictures. Nobody has been up on the roof. I am a noob when it comes to construction and relatively new to Australia as well. Can some one with more experience please advise 1. if this looks like a serious issue? 2. what would it cost approximately to fix this? 3. The house is still in statutory warranty. Is this something that counts as something that can be claimed under warranty? It isn't serious but should be looked at as a strong wind could blow rain under those tiles. Unsure of costs to fix but an hour of a roof tilers time would see that fixed. Stewie Appreciate your feedback. I have been quoted 400 to 500 for this. Do you reckon this is a claim under statutory warranty, if the quote was cheap I wouldn't even bother. But for a 7 year old house, I can notice a few other large cracks in the pointing. regards, Re: Cracked roof 4Sep 22, 2020 10:57 pm No it's classed as on-going owners maintenance, a handyman could do it easily enough, maybe $100 - $150 it's only a small job We are Expert Consultant's, and we are here to help.
