Hi all.
We just moved into our house in December 2019. One of the things we found very difficult was imagining where the house would sit on the block and how close our boundaries were. Not to mention trying to figure out how much space we would have for future outside yard projects like a pool. Also just the simple things of knowing which way the sun would travel across my block. Even the process of picking our house design in the first place was tricky because our block was diamond shape and we had easements on one side and along the back. I wanted to be able see on paper how it would all work out. I pulled out an old software i used to use as a engineer, and found it made everything so much better. I now have my block drawn to scale and can see where north is. I then put the house on it and moved it around to suit setbacks, easements and maximize functional yard space. It worked a treat and after that i started to design the driveway shape, then our shed, and now i'm onto a pool. The drawings have made it so much easier for us and i was wondering if there would be a market for people to have their plans put on their block? I could probably do it for $50 for the initial drawing then $10 per modification as you move stuff around. I have attached some pictures of what i've done so you can see what i'm talking about. All i would need is your plan of subdivision drawing with the block coordinates and your house design with dimensions. I have also used these drawings to give to surveyors for the shed permit and now the pool permit. Its made life much easier. Anyway, feel free to comment or send me a pm. I'm just seeing if this could be of use for people.
Cheers
