Having had both installed in past projects, I don’t think it matters at all. In fact, what probably matters is that the joiner has a good relationship with the supplier, irrespective of who that is. For the record, I think the same applies to the various engineered stone manufacturers. Also, some of these companies have different tiers of products within their portfolio, and it might matter more whether you go for the lowest or the highest tier. For example, I hate MDF because it can have a tendency to "blow" in moist environments, so we specified moisture-resistant MDF, even though it cost more. Thank you..that's very helpful..will definitely find out about moisture resistance MDF Re: Kitchen cabinets 4Sep 17, 2020 5:02 pm All cabinet makers would be using MR MDF and HMR particle board for kitchen, bathroom and laundry cabinetry. I actually buy it cheaper than non moisture resistant board. It just comes down to volume. There is so much MR board used the economies of scale make it cheaper. Realistically all domestic or European made melamine board is of similar quality. The only questions I'd have regards quality would be board coming out of China. Is laminex as good as polytec? TIA In the past, laminates did not have the luxury of a postformed edge, making it look cheap. Now, polytec employ tight radius', and physical properties such as stain and scratch resistant surfaces that make laminate a much more valuable choice My son just bought an old house and wants to paint the kitchen cabinets. Does anyone have suggestions… 0 1168 Probably, but since we have no idea what builder you've chosen's inclusions are, it's impossible for us to tell. 4 2358 21 7513 |
