Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Door height help needed. 2Sep 15, 2020 12:22 am TracyLee Hello. We are in the design process of building our home. We are having 2550 ceiling height throughout but am stressing over External and internal door heights. Will standard doors heights look odd with 2550 ceilings? Thanks. Not at all, the next standard door height is 2340mm, so taking the following into account 2550mm less - Ceiling plaster (10mm) Flooring allowance (20mm) Leaves 2520mm 2520mm less - Gap between floor and door (10mm) Cornice (90mm) and Architrave (Assume 67mm) Leaves 2353mm This would leave you with a gap of 10-13mm between your cornice and the top of your architrave, standard doors (in my opinion) look better at his height) Cheers Re: Door height help needed. 3Sep 15, 2020 1:23 am For this ceiling height do you not shoot for anything over 2040 mm for both external and internal doors (unless you do floor to ceiling frameless minimalistic interior doors). If you go custom you can try and do something in the middle, e.g. 2150 mm, but this will be your absolute max. Keep in mind that you would need space to have some space for the lintel. i imagine you also have another contract with an architect? and yeah, whatever other's said about special conditions and appendices 16 15822 Unless the room is for storage then it's non compliant BCA V2 2019 S3 P3.8 You have 2 options 1.
