Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 07, 2020 2:31 pm Hi! We built with Bold Living 11 months ago. Handover was Oct 24 2019. Fews weeks ago we had an issue with plumbing. Bathroom suddenly not draining. Given we were here just 10months, i was expecting it to be pet of warranty. But no, we were arrogantly pushed back saying its like due to homeowners usage (without checking it). We ended up hiring our own plumber. Turns out there was a large whitish material blocking the drain over 7meters away from the bathroom (was told maybe tissue?). We were surprised as we dont use tissue much. Anyway letting go of that aspect, the plumber incidentally found a pipe crack/breakage one meter down from the front access. We were informed that it is due to either construction or landscaping. The landscaper we hired was from bold living and was done prior to handover. We informed Bold about this but and the reply was that it is not part of warranty as they have met the certification requirements prior to handover. We were told that we dont have a proof that this happened before the handover hence will not fix it. I dont understand this. This damage cannot be clearly because of us. We are 11 months (within the 1 year defect liability period) and we are being pushed away. And apparently there is only 1 person assigned in maintainance to talk to us and cannot escalate the problem to anyone else. Anyone having issues similar? Out experience with Bold Living has been great before so this is so frustrating. Re: Bold Living After handover issues 2Sep 07, 2020 8:50 pm Hi DocMaanne, Do you have the CCTV footage of the 'white matter' and cracked/breakage of the pipe? Often rubble is found in pipes as there is no care factor. Were the stormwater and sewer pipes checked by CCTV before handover? If so, Bold Living should have this footage. What jurisdiction are you in? The Builder is responsible for any trade onsite with the construction of your property and including the landscaping if it was part of the contract. I would be writing an email to Bold Living requesting they replace the broken/cracked pipe and wait for their response. If they are still adamant it is not their problem, contact your State regulator and submit a complaint. Ensure that you have a report from your plumber, your emails from Bold Living and the CCTV pictures/footage and include this in your complaint. It is important that you first try to solve it with the builder. Good luck I am looking at building a house. Has anyone used Construkt Homes (based in Adelaide)? Does anyone have experience with this builder? 0 6451 12 5335 Industry type domestic contracts are prepared by industry bodies for the benefit of the builders.
