Re: What are you sick of seeing? 443Sep 08, 2010 11:39 pm I've seen great fogs in SE Qld, especially around Cunninghams Gap. Maybe you just don't have fog very often? I'm sick of seeing brand new, expensive cars with faulty indicators. They must be faulty because hardly anyone ever uses them. I suggest nation-wide vehicle recalls ... Judie Re: What are you sick of seeing? 444Sep 09, 2010 8:59 am by fog lights, do you mean the little half lights that turn on before you turn on your full headlights? I believe it is safer to have lights on at any time of day so that you are more visible to other drivers. The company I work for is very OTT (in a good way) about safety and insist that we all drive with our full headlights on all the time. Having said that, I usually don't though. Re: What are you sick of seeing? 445Sep 09, 2010 10:12 am OK I've got one back on the poor English rant from earlier. I can not stand "could of" "should of" or "would of" it is simply wrong and it grates on me every time I see it in writing. It is could've, should've and would've they are abbreviations of could have, should have and would have. The use of "of" does not make sense and is WRONG WRONG WRONG..... Like my hyndai excel. There's one red fog light under my brake lights. I never use it, as I dont drive in much fog. But I get stuck behind other drivers who insist on using it all the time, and it's blinding! It's the equivalent of someone high beaming you. Re: What are you sick of seeing? 448Sep 09, 2010 10:43 am oh ok those lights, I always thought they were ppl driving with high beams on, I hate that too. sometimes I'll be driving in front of a 4WD and just the position of their lights blinds me in the rear vision mirror. I wonder if they actually have their fog lights on. "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. My American friend laughs at the fact that almost everyone here doesn't correctly pronounce the name of the country they were born in. People who say "I seen it" instead of "I saw it" It's "I've seen it" or "I have seen it". Re: What are you sick of seeing? 450Sep 09, 2010 11:19 am I love the one "asks" pronounced "arks"....They skip the 1st 's'. This is what makes me irritated most. I think it's the area I live in as I am originally not from here and have noticed people pronounce their words differently and not the correct English pronunciation!!!! Re: What are you sick of seeing? 451Sep 09, 2010 11:20 am I'm sick of seeing those solar powered garden path lights. Sorry but I just hate them. Re: What are you sick of seeing? 452Sep 09, 2010 11:31 am funny about arks! I agree of course it is totally wrong, but I have taken to using it when talking to my sister in a bogan accent just for fun you know? but I found it creeping into my speech with other ppl too, and they probably thought I thought thats what it really is. SO I have had to make a concerted effort not to use it outside silly conversations with my sister LOL. Re: What are you sick of seeing? 453Sep 09, 2010 11:47 am I hate when driving at night and people flick their lights at you just as they go past. Assuming that you have forgotten to turn your lights down. I don't mind the ones who flick it a fair way back to remind you, and I flick mine to show that I've already done it. But when they blast you just as you drive past to be pains. I drive a commodore, and I've had my lights checked, as I started getting paranoid. I usually turn my lights off High Beam as soon as someone turns the corner (assume distance driving here) Not sure if this is a common thing or just my experience Re: What are you sick of seeing? 454Sep 09, 2010 12:12 pm I am sick of drivers speeding and coming up RIGHT BEHIND ME on the freeway, and tailgating me or flashing their lights at me to move over. a) I can't move over or I would HIT THE CAR NEXT TO ME b) *** off, I'm doing the speed limit And to the guy who nearly caused an accident by swerving in front of me (luckily I had a fair idea he was going to do something stupid) just so he could be slightly ahead in his drive on the ringroad last week, I hope you got done by the speed camera!!!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37229 - our Iris 4! But as the driver in front, the onus is on you to move over. Most of the time, I am in the right lane because I am overtaking someone who is going less, ie 85 or 90km. I do move back into the left lane (well, 3rd from left, it's a 4 lane freeway and my exit is on the right) after going past. If people want to speed, that's their choice. But I don't agree with drivers who try and intimidate people who are doing the speed limit just so they can get there a few minutes faster. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37229 - our Iris 4!
