Sadly, this isn't something new for us - we've been battling for almost four years now. We are waiting on the outcome of a claim we lodged with our home insurance (the builder and plumber are responsible for our slab heave). We have had an engineer out. Our home insurance also just had their engineer out. He clearly stated in his report that according to Australian Standards, our house is still within tolerances. There is no tolerance for slab heave as far as I know. I'd ask to see the Australian standard that says this You're being taken for a ride. No one wants to be responsible, which is not surprising.
