If there is a mark on the walls I use either a microfiber cloth or magic eraser to clean it off. I generally don't have any issues getting marks off the walls, however I find if I have to do anything beyond very light rubbing that when light is shining on the wall you can see where I have rubbed the mark off (i.e. burnishing as described hereby Dulux).
