I find it hard to believe any would but apparently this person has been told they can by a well known company. The building firm they are in negotiation with has also said they will allow other outside workers onsite at the same time as their builders. With our own building process been a mission and talking to enough salespeople to last a lifetime its the first time I've heard of one who is willing to allow the owner to do such major work themselves. I am just concerned that what they have been told may be a 'lure' to get them to sign up because basically a salesperson will tell you anything to get the job. Re: Would Any Project Builders Allow You To Do Own Electrica 5Mar 05, 2016 7:44 am I have heard of it being allowed but it wasn't an easy process. Lots of hoops to jump through! Re: Would Any Project Builders Allow You To Do Own Electrica 8Mar 16, 2016 1:17 pm My construction is about to start and my own electrician has been granted access pre sheeting to do all of our additional wiring. In this case it was the salesman saying what we wanted to hear, luckily i had it in writing so when push came to shove and they said NO i said YES because it was in writing so they had to. But we aren't allowed to touch their sparky's work and nothing can be finished off until after hand over.
