I hear some noises once or twice in the walls over a 2 months period early morning 2~3am (probably mice) The house does make some single popping sound that might be house timber (or may be mouse jumping) when the sun shines on the front face of the house but other places and other times there are some single once off popping sounds. We have a small dog So my questions are. q1 Is the single popping sound the house stucture or mouse jumping to a new pillar q2 What pest services do you think I should ask for? and consideration for a small dog. q3 I am thinking of putting some bait in the weep holes (which is the only place I can see mice get in) I'm concerned the poisoned mice might run away in to the back yard and the dog might eat them. q4 I am considering putting in weep hole protectors. but this might trap the mice in or keep them out. AND this way they die inside but unsure of dead mice in the wall. your thoughts would be appreciated. If the popping sounds happen when sun hits the home the cause would most likely be normal thermal expansion and contraction of timber/roof. Re: mice in walls and weep holes 4Apr 03, 2022 4:01 pm JoeyGO What was your solution to get rid of mice? I called in a Pest exterminator who came and found how they were getting in. He threw some poison pellets and some wax looking poison in the attic. A few weeks later there was a dead mouse under the house. He then came and got rid of the mouse, sealed up some brickwork with mortar and have never had a mouse back in 3 years. You are correct. Just read through all the ncc rules and 75mm is the minimum requirement for me. 4 11974 it depends on the natural ground level, if they excavated their boundary wall needed to be built as a retaining wall.
