How to send a pm

Have I done it all correctly ?

-hit pm button in post I wanted to pm
-New screen, "quoted" part of post and added my comments..
-hit submit

Message now appears to be in "out" box. Not in "sent", is this correct...has my pm been sent... this is my dilemma..!!

Yes it has been sent, but until the person you are sending the pm to opens Homeone, it will sit in your outbox. All should be good.
