Hi, I have just recently put a deposit on unregistered land. In NSW I think land under 400k is exempt from stamp duty until July 2021. We will be paying 398k but I am wondering if we have three months from the date that we signed the contract to pay stamp duty, or is it from settlement? Settlement is estimated to be the 4th quarter of this year, so I am hoping it is from contract date so that we won’t have to pay it. Any advice would be great!
