Plasterboard Crack Repair

The old part of my property is an original settler's cottage, built around 1850. The new part at the rear was built in the 1980s.

There is an open doorway between the two sections and the plasterboard here has repeatedly cracked.

The house is on very reactive clay soil in Adelaide and is on the side of a hill. I am in two minds how best to repair it as it constantly cracks. Any advice appreciated!

General Discussion

Most likely poor foam installation and render installation, Joint covered with render, foam could be sitting on flashing. Do you have any render at house
