That's fantastic Twy
Gandn got some fantastic trades too. I seem to remember your man and his dad (tradesman) have some good contacts from heir own network. It's pretty special to build your own house with your own (and your dad's) hands.

That's really cute ... Cubby house! Bahaha
(BTW thanks)

True, Gandn has got some fantastic trades as well. It is and I think partner's dad was happy to see the house with the trusses on. It stuck with me when partner's brother joked before that our house looks like a pub cos it is long (as it is deep). Hahaha! But now with the trusses on, it does look like a house. So pretty happy with it.

Haha, yep, I will call it from now on our Cubby house.

Do you mind me asking how much your theatre seating cost? It won't show me anything on the iPhone

Hi Sloppy! We got our theatre seats from Elite HTS in Canada.

We got the promo ones which are back on again (when I last checked, they did not have it). See the url below:
http://www.elitehometheaterseating.com/promo/

You can change some things like the cup holder colour and if you like curve, straight, love seat etc. but the seat and the recliner are basically what's in the offer (and I think from memory, just black leather colour). Ours are straight row of 4 black seats with black cup holders.

It says $1,950 each but I think we got it cheaper than that at the time. I think you also get discount if you have a business (ie ABN) but not quite sure how it works. We got our seats a while back when the Aussie dollar was still also performing great. But there are the shipping costs and import duty tax costs as well. All in all, I think we paid 9 grand more or less.

The reason why we searched for chairs and stumbled upon the Elite HTS website is because we went to a home theatre store here in Adelaide (they probably specialise on sound and screens more but they also sell seats) and each seat costs $7,000! And they said they import the seats from Canada anyway. We could not find the seats that we want here in Adelaide (that we can afford) though probably interstate there are more options. The lady that we dealt with in Canada, she's nice too. But more importantly, we are happy with the seats that we got!
Thanks for that. I don't think my wife would approve of seating at that price. They do look very nice and comfy tho

They are cool seats! The home theatre is my partner's baby, I guess. He doesn't spend much on himself normally so it was never an issue with me. We want it to be a dedicated home theatre, ie no coffee table, just seats with cup holders and a place for my partner's movie stuff. Not sure what we will get for screen though. Will see.

My partner and his dad drilled the posts for the verandah today. Fiddly job this was! Concrete tomorrow.

We thought the deck frames are required to be done for the roof trusses to be done. So we had them ordered and delivered at the same time. But that's not the case. We didn't want to store them in case they twist so my partner and the chippie who did our internal wall frames have installed them already. Here's some photos:

Our iron, fascia and gutter have also been delivered last Friday. Partner's dad's mate was here today and then tomorrow to do the fascia and gutter. Next weekend, cross fingers that the weather cooperates, we will have a roof already! Scribing will be the weekend after next.

That's a beautiful big verandah! Fantastic you also have one off your bedroom.

Forget about the roof, you need to get your decking down ASAP so you can site outside in the evenings whilst having a glass of wine.

Hi Beetaloo! I know what you're saying! I think that's it for now for our deck though.

Just posting some photos of gutter and fascia.

Looking good. It's coming along fast now. Look forward to roof photos.

I hope the wind stays away on the weekend gandn!

I think we found our rangehood! Whispair. Have any of you got any experience with this rangehood? I really would like to get quiet appliances if I can for our house. I hope this one is not just quiet but actually works too! We will get one that is 900 wide cos our hot plates will be 600 wide.

Whispair sample in Harvey Norman.

It's one of those nights. Haha. We are looking to get this display case for our home theatre. This will come from Sydney though. Partner tried to find something similar today in Adelaide to no avail. If you know where to get something like this in Adelaide, please let me know.

We will get the one with the cupboard below it for storage. We will get 3 of them and will be built in to make them look like part of the wall. They will sit behind our home theatre chairs. We decided we need to get them prior gyprock so that we can see what we're working on.

Great progress there!

No experience with whispair but have a Schweigen undermount UM1170-9s (single motor 1600cm3 so only 1 hole cut in roof) and my stove plates are 900 wide, love it compared to my good old Robinhood rangehood haha! Both brands have great products.

Suggest check whirlpool forum for discussions.

I believe Spartan electrical carries whispair too. I got my schweigen from them.

harvey norman factory out (mile end) does have specials on and off.

Cheers boosta! Are you also happy with your Schweigen in terms of suction? ie. In the apartment that I lived in, the rangehood is like a jet but doesn't seem to work, there's layer of oil over cupboards and things which means lots of cleaning all the time
