subwoofer placement

Hi all,

I currently have a 5.1 system, but am looking to upgrade to a 7.2 and purchase another active woofer for my new house. I realise that bass soundwaves are omnidirectional, but am after some general advice on whether I should look at placing my subwoofers at the front or rear of the room? Has anyone experimented with subwoofer placement in their theatre room, and if so, what did you find worked best?
If given the choice I persoanlly prefer the front of the Cinema, but it really, really shouldn't matter, unless you are sitting directly next to one - then it will be reasonably obvious that you are next to it...
This is a good method apparently.

It is called the subwoofer crawl and the "experts" rave about it!

"senior expert" all right

Pile drivers/ Butt thumpers ftw...

tho I'd always go with 2 subs anyways so... moot point for me
The best place to put it is where it doesn't drown out the natural sound.
