Thought i’d start my own thread on my build with Home Group WA since I’m still in the early stages.

Timeline so far:

23/04/19- Offer on block
06/05/19- Offer acceptance
16/05/19- Cat 2 check
31/05/19- Finance application
13/06/19- Bank valuation
21/06/19- Finance approval
18/07/19- Land settlement
19/07/19- HG confirm finance and land settlement
31/07/19- First documents received
12/08/19- Council planning application
26/08/19- Pre- start
19/09/19- Final documents received/ start of scheduling phase.
11/11/19- Council planning approval issued
13/11/19- External certification submitted
18/11/19- External certification received
19/11/19- Building permit application
20/11/19- Building permit issued.
27/11/19- Pre- site inspection
29/11/19- Removal of boundary fence.
04/12/19- Advised of movement to Construction phase.
09/12/19- Siteworks expected to commence
16/12/19- Siteworks commence (delay due to incorrect disposal during demolition and buried debris).
19/12/19- Footings Laid
21/12/19- Slab poured
20/01/20- Bricks Delivered
04/02/20- Brickwork commenced
17/02/20- Plate Height
18/02/20- Roof Carpentry commenced
11/03/20- Roof Cover complete
13/03/20- Ceilings and wall gyprock commenced
27/03/20- Painter sealed walls
01/04/20- Lock Up
06/04/20- Bath and plumbing fixtures
10/04/20- Cabinetry complete
20/04/20- Garage grano poured
22/04/20- Tiler commences
30/04/20- Tiling complete
04/05/20- Final electrical and plumbing
11/05/20- A/C, Solar, Insulation
12/06/20- PCI
25/06/20- Key Handover

Plan looks great! It looks like a narrow block. We are also building on a narrow block. Good luck for the build!

Thanks! Yeah block was a large one that’s been sub divided down the middle so ours is 10m x 50m. Glad we could design something to fit the space effectively!


10/12/19- Power Box in


16/12/19- Site Cleared



19/12/19- Footings laid




21/12/19- Slab poured


Updated design based on requirements from council.
Bricks are here!



Bricks have started.... Just.


We have walls. ETA on bricks complete is next week!





More bricks done today! So quick

Hahaha I wish! No we made friends with the neighbour who has been sending us daily progress pics as we are living regionally until the build is complete.

Build is looking great. I really like your floorplan - so many narrow lot plans don't flow well but yours is well designed and functional

Thanks! We’re really happy with it. My brother used to work for HomeGroup so he spent a lot of time with us drawing it and making sure we were happy.
Just hoping it feels right when it’s all finished.
Internal walls going up and T bars installed.
