Good evening,
We are very close to signing our contract to knock down and rebuild.
Exciting times but we are very nervous as this is our first time and we don't really know what to expect.
We haven't chosen the demolition company yet and would appreciate any recommendations as a first step.
Any tips and advice, such as things to look at and be aware of, the must do, etc will be very much appreciated.

Hi Lily! SNAP! We are doing a KDR too and with DFH and we are first timers too! =D We are building the Macedon 313 in the outer Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We just got the ok from our council for dispensation and have just applied for a power pit to be installed and in the process of gathering quotes for demolition. Its all very daunting! We are still living in the house to be demolished but we will have to start looking at rentals soon. Looking at a possible March start date, fingers crossed!

There is sooooo much to do and I have no idea where to start. To make things more challenging we have an 8 months baby! Oh Gosh!!!!
Do we apply to the electrical pitch with our electricity supplier?

The builder applies for the permits on your behalf. Where are you building and do you know if you need any council dispensations? We waited till we got approval from the council before we applied for the power pit. We will take this time to pack up and prepare for the move.8 month olds are not too bad - 8 and 11 year olds have so much stuff!!! =D
