10m Frontage Block - Dreamstart Build - Calleya Estate

Hey team,

Been a stalker of this excellent site for almost a year now, so thought I would start our thread now we have some movement at the station. Had a false start with one builder, but luckily we got out before they could make it any worse.

We are building a customised version of the Dream Verona with Dreamstart. We have a 300sqm (10x30) block in Calleya Estate, Treeby (formerly Banjup).

Will post a picture of a final plan shortly, but looking forward to documenting our construction journey

Building permit was issued on 10 November 2016, so we are expecting siteworks to begin next week. I might actually cry with happiness when I see our tap installed.

Always happy for input and advice from everyone!

Enjoy your day.

Thank you! I was so happy! Haha thanks
so many of our choices are actually similar/same as yours - we obviously have such excellent tastes

We have completed all of our selections, so I will post them below.

We were really impressed with our consultant from Swan Ceramics, she was very lovely, patient and knowledgeable.

ABC Blinds was pretty standard, and the Carpet Call guy was hilarious. Both of those visits were super quick and painless, mostly because we knew what we wanted I think.

Pre-start was a very pleasant experience, and not as expensive as we had anticipated.

Overall, our experience at Dreamstart so far has been great. Hope the construction is too....

Bricks - Bullara

Roof and gutters - Shale Grey

Main Floor Tile - 450x450mm IOS Blanco

Bathrooms - floor - 200x200mm Etna Charcoal

Carpet (bedrooms and theatre) - Andrew - Dance

Kitchen - splashback - Nimes Blanco
- stone - Essastone Calcite
- Formica - Sarum grey

Effectively, this is the look we are going for...

Your tile & cabinet selections look very elegant & sophisticated. That kitchen splashback is gorgeous isn't it? I couldn't resist it either ?

I know! I loved it immediately. Looking forward to seeing how yours looks!

So....... less than a week has gone by and they are already on site!

Hello flat sand and pre-lay.

And then there was... a tap
Power! Almost slab!

And you're on your way! πŸ‘ for the footings. So you might have a full slab by end of today

Con-slab-ulations ?πŸ’ƒ How exciting. Did you do a slab dance?

Wish i could help you with your question about the cracks. Hopefully it's nothing serious but you may want to flick an email to the clo asking about it. I had a question about brickwork & rochelle was very quick to respond with an info sheet about it

Congrats on the build, we took have been on here for a while but no thread of our own started yet - we are building with Redink which has not been without its dramas lately, but hopefully once the final drawings are in my hand we will start a thread.

Just wanted to encourage you along the journey, this will be our 4th (2nd in WA) build. crazy I think but hopefully will be worth the pain.
Cheers

Thanks for checking in! 4th build?! That's crazy!! You must be incredibly patient. Sorry to hear you're having issues, it really does dampen the whole process I think. Looking forward to your thread when you finally get the drawings!

Haha - would love to have seen you & your partner dancing around on the slab ☺

Glad to hear you've heard from your clo & ss. I didn't hear from mine until after the slab had gone down either.

I did say i wouldn't be surprised if your house is at plate height by chistmas😊
