We are building in north west Brisbane... 900m2 block on a hill backing onto Brisbane forest park and Cedar creek is at the end of our block. I love it. We are building the Miami 15 but have added 2mtre in length through the children's activity room, study nook is now a full room with cavity slider into children's room and Lin1 door on other side. Theatre has been extended and butlers pantry added in the same layout as the 16. We have done the grande alfresco and have the base extended (will be decked on top of cement slab) to include the master suite outside area but we are doing a pergola rather than solid roof line as we wanted the light... Other upgrades are lin1 doors, 40mm c-stone in crime brûlée, double plumbing and two shower heads in ensuite, extra large glass sliding doors to children's activity area and all the caoba and aesthetic upgrades which I did on Monday.
We have four children, 17,13 (girls) and twin 5 boys so this house works really well for us both now, and in the future..
All sounds very exciting, would be keen to see your build and plans as they are done... I have just started a blog at the following location to track my build

Hi,
Happy to share... Not sure how though! Lol. I finished my uni exams this week so I have a little more time on my hands to work out the forum... I work full time as a nurse and study full time as well. To say i have been busy is putting it mildly.
Will work out a blog this weekend and put up the link.
Our land is in council waiting for registration... I think we won't be starting until end of February if I am realistic. Christmas closures, have to build retaining walls and council approval has all got to happen yet. It's a slow process but I am in no rush (yet!). The longer it takes the more savings we have.

Hi, we are in the process of picking a design with McDonald Jones Homes, highly interested in the Miami 16 also. I have checked out your blog, it's great and informative thank you. If you don't mind me asking how much have they quoted including the changes to the plan? Do you have an updated plan with your changes incorporated? Is there any other blogs that you know of with the Miami 15 or 16? Am keen to get as many ideas as I can for changes to this house.
Thanks
