Hi everyone - Just wondering how long everyone took to get into their new home after final handover ? How long did it take to get occupancy cert and what else do we need to wait for before we move in once complete ?
Thanks heaps

Occupancy cert is typically issued before hand over. Hand over is when you get your keys. You wouldn't get keys if there wasn't a occupancy cert.

This isn't always the case.
A final occupation cert can't be issued until landscaping works are completed.
Certain other works may hold back the certifier in issuing even an interim occupation cert.
Depending on what works the builder is contracted to do, may or may not mean that they are responsible for obtaining an occupation cert prior to handover.
the OP appears to have been edited for clarity. The question originally was how long after handover do you get the occupancy cert. Neither points are valid now. However the point of an occupancy cert is to signify that a premesis is safe to occupy. I've not seen a surveyor not issue one due to incomplete landscaping ever. Builders want to get paid.

Correct. Ours was issued before any landscaping occurred. We moved in and will begin landscaping this weekend (weather permitting).
We are also yet to get a driveway due to bad weather which also did not affect the COO being issued.
Ours took a day from receiving to handover.
Lol we finished our landscaping 9months after moving in haha that would have taken us a long time to get coo if we had to wait for landscape.
