My SS implied last week that they shut down on the 20th ...

Cool thanks guys! Well that's good, another 2 weeks of work for them to get us closer to handover!!

I was told the 20th, but my prestart girl has the following in her email signature;
Please note that our office will be closed from the Wednesday 18th December 2013, and will re-open on the 6th of January 2014. We wish you and your families a Safe and Happy Christmas and New Year.
