BTW you will love the Frappe Essastone. I have just put it in my kitchen renovation and I love it!! I have parchment 2 pac doors and the whole colouring looks fantastic.
If you are looking for a nice bone/tan wall colour, I painted my walls Wattyl divinity. It has tan/bone undertones. I didn't want yellowy, or pinky or greeny undertones. I have used this colour before and it just gives off a nice colour.
I hope it all works out for you this time.
Jo
There is a pic of our kitchen which should show you the colouring on this topic viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64323
I can't put any pics up whilst at work as our system doesn't give us access to certain things but if I remember correctly you should see the bench and the wall colours. If divintity isn't quite dark enough you can double strength it but I really love the colour.
Jo
your plan is similar to mine, santorini 29 from M, maybe another contender
like you say every builder has good and bad reports about them, like us we have had a fairly good run with hickies but you and a few others did not.
Your house is burning along now Hachy, amazing
Anyway, we come across the Simonds display at Blakeview, we have a chat to Haydn (who is the most helpful, personable and knowledgeable sales consultant we have come across) and then liking what we hear without even seeing a home, we see the Sierra...
We visited the Simonds selection centre today, went through all the options and got an amazing $50,000 worth of upgrades for $20k (in a promo) and cut our price down by about $40 - $45k all over!!!
And we have thrown more upgrades at it and have more included than in any of the other quotes with the other builders.
We are sacrificing about 30sqm with the alfresco area and the living area (after we add some more space will be about 15sqm less than our custom plan)
BUT we have plans for a 8.5m x 4.5 m deck alongside the house instead and the funny thing is it feels HUGE in there with that 13ft vaulted ceiling? Go figure.
The house we just new was perfect, no fussing about, it was the house we wished we'd known about from the beginning. *sigh*
More details to come, but we handed over some $$ and are getting some plans drawn.
AND we get to build sooner because of the price difference!!! Hahaha winning!
Never have we been more "jumpy" than what we have been during this whole episode, seems everytime we turn around we like something else and are then set on that.
Starting to feel like little Miss Fickle!
But we are really happy with this, it makes sense
Not to mention when we had the siting drawn up for the custom plan we had less than 4m of backyard
So we have double that now because of the change in floorplan configuration... Another bonus!
We never wanted a big yard, but 8m x 16m is perfect.
I think our poor SC was about to fallover with the 101 question drill we went through, but he answered every one, gave us examples and thorough detailed answers.
Most impressed
I have to go and follow up on everyone's builds now... I've been on holidays this week and my normal "browsing the forum" time has been interrupted! I have not much of an idea of what's been happening with everyone this past week and a bit.
Hope your house has had some progress Amy...
