Rusty lintels on new build

Is it normal and/or acceptable for the lintels on our new house to be rusty? We are coming up for practical completion and I want to insist that "something" is done to rectify the matter, but I'm not sure if I'm being too finic.

Any thoughts/comments appreciated

Cheers
They should be primed and painted with a weatherproof/water proof paint to prevent further rust and subsequent expansion of the lintel causing cracking of brickwork.
