Ive just gotten my quote back for my kitchen from HOG and their price for the waterfall sides was over $1000.00/m2 and 40mm (upgrade from 20mm only) edging was over $500 per lineal metre
Does anyone have an industry standard price????

Including the builders margin 25% or so, we were quoted around 1k for waterfall edging in quantum quartz, with our upgrade to the 'premium' range of color in 20mm we've been charged around 1k plm for the extra benchtop sections we upgraded from laminex.

I did warn you it was like visiting prison!
I'd tell HOG kitchens where to shove it and have the standard benchtop removed after handover.

Take your kitchen measurments and get a few independant quotes. It does sound extremely pricey, my water fall sides in granite were $385 each. If you plan on doing the bench after handover, you will probably want to leave the splashback as well as that gets put on last.

1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it
