Pre - Wire New Home - Reasonable price or NOT ?
Just got a quote from someone to pre wire my home
2 Phone Lines @100 each
7 Data Lines @110 each
2 TV Outlet @100 each
2 Foxtel TV Outlet @100 each
1 RG6 cable to Hub @100 each
3 Data Lines to hub ( 1 phone, 1 Internet, 1 Media )
2 TV Outlet re-run to Hub @100 each
1 Star Serve Hub @500
Total 2470
is that reasonable price ?
Austar TV points $60
I dont know what data lines are...
Here's what i paid during pre-wire:
Phone Point = 55 ea
TV Point = 50 ea
not sure about the others as we didn't do those. At the end of the day...think...if it is pre-wire, it's just simply running a cable and maybe drilling thru a couple of noggins, so your 'extras' will take about 3hrs? I wish I earnt that kinda cash for that little time...
Where are you located, if in Melbourne, happy to pass on the details of the guy doing ours - found him to be quite reasonable

industry standard is $125 per run, for any runs over 4 points it works out to be cheaper "per run"

Seems good to me. I've been told $4-5k/sqm is reasonable in Perth.
