Help with External House Ideas for an Adenbrook Home.

We are building an Adenbrook home, this one to be exact... http://www.adenbrookhomes.com.au/homes/ ... s=Lakewood and we would like to know your opinions on the following scheme we are liking for the house.

Brick - Double Height Brick in Presto Brolio (light creamy brick) http://www.pghclay.com.au/catalog/pgh/c ... KQ0901.jpg

Roof - Monier Tiled roof in Barramundi (darkish grey/black) http://www.monier.com.au/Uploads/Produc ... iArray.jpg

We would like to know what you guys suggest for the following things....

Garage Door - Should this be dark to match the roof or should it be light to match the house? (Will be a colourbond garage door)

Window Frames - We are thinking black to match the tinted windows. Will this look good or do you suggest a light colour to match the house?

Guttering - Matching the roof (dark) or a contrasting colour?

We have a huge day ahead of us picking the colours but any opinions before hand would be wonderful

Thank you!!

That is almost the exact same colours we picked for our house! We have a light creamy brick (but Austral bricks I think?) with an offwhite mortar. And the rooftiles we picked is the Barramundi as well.

We have part of the front of the house rendered in a shade of brown. We then picked a similar brown for the gutters and the garage door to contrast the light coloured bricks. Although I would've liked a timber-look garage door to match the timber panelling that is also on the front part of the house just above where the rendered area is. And I couldn't justify paying 1k for a timber-look. For that price it should be real timber! Heh

Anyhoo, I'm no expert with exterior colours but I think the black windows might possibly be too dark. But if you're getting tinted windows then it might work since you have a dark roof. Is there another dark colour that's not black? Maybe something closer to your roof colour? Btw, we picked a silver/grey window frame with our one.

In regards to the guttering being matching or contrasting. When i asked our colour consultant what most people do (because I was also undecided) she said that it's about 50/50. Therefore it comes down to personal choice. I believe some people even do contrasting gutters/fascia.

Take samples/photos of what you like. It helps! Or at least look online at how display homes have been put together. It gives you ideas and stuff.

Have fun picking colours!
aaurora,

What type of front door are you having?

Painted or timber stained??
YSSIM - thank you, you have been a great help. It is wonderful to get other opinions
Perhaps for the window frames a lighter than black colour would look better.... Hey, I'm no expert! Hopefully the interior designers will help out

I would prefer not to get a timber look garage as well due to the price!

Michelle - We are having a Corinthian solid timber door with glass panels.

General Discussion

your new kitchen and living area looks great and we need accurate dimensions to be specific but with the thickness of the brick column you may be able to line the inside…
