Brickwork - New Home

Hi all,

Wanted to know if the lack of interlocking bricks on where the garage door is to be placed could cause any issues?

The rest of the home the bricks are interlocked but not here and I was worried the bricks may split from the mortar if weight is pushing down on it.

Not knowing any better I thought it would be good to ask.

Thanks for any advice.

Hey Shmaybe
Pity you didn't take photos during the brickwork stage
and checked them against the certified engineering notes.
There should be metal wall ties connecting brick leaves.
To be 100% certain the wall will need to be scanned

Hi StructuralBIMGuy,

I don't have photos but I can confirm seeing the metal ties in that part of the wall. Was every 2nd brick from the ground level.

So the ties add a lot of strength to the wall?

Cheers for the assistance.
