Wanted: Roofer tradesman - Bellbird Park (QLD)

Hi everyone,

Just a quick question. I am in a progress of building my house and my builder looks to be short on a roofer trade.
We currently have the slab done and just waiting for the labour to be available so we can bring the frame and roof.
Builder has got already the supply but saying he cannot find any roofer available.
Has anyone come across that case? Does anyone know someone in the area who would be available and work in the area?
Here are some pictures from the floor plan provided by the builder

Your builder is not paying the trades enough. I’m sure there are roofers about, you just have to pay market rates...
Hi, we are building in Narangba and we have just had our roof go on at the start of this week. It was a 7 week wait for us. Our builder said there is a massive shortage of trades at the moment due to roof insurance jobs being taken over new builds. I've also been told that there has been an increase in roof prices due to the demand aswell.

We are lucky because our builder has just had to put 60 day extensions on to their other builds due to timber shortage and roof labour hire. Goodluck I hope you are able to find someone!
The builder is now offering us an another option. We could go with a Tile roof instead of the original colorbound we have signed for in the building contract.
This will be only 3 weeks instead of 3 months waiting... The downside of it is that I am pretty sure colorbond is better resistant to hail and does not have to be maintain that often. I have seen nasty thing happening after a hailstorm around the Springfield area but who know's which one is better on your eyes?
Let me know in the comments
It’s a wait for a lot of things at the moment. Personally I’d be waiting the 3 months provided your able to and it doesn’t affect anything else. I think your research of the tiles has given you some good information. Ask yourself if your willing to compromise and if you go the tiles will you regret it? Lots to think about!

I think you are correct. Thank you for the picture, the black roof does give a great appearance and more prestigious look to your house. We will go with a Surfmist Colourbond one with R5 insulation on the ceiling as Bellbird Park is very hot on a Summer days.
