HELP PLEASE!!!!
So, ive been looking at my plans and other COLUMBUS houses by Wisdom and want peoples opinion! My front piers are 470mm wide which is really big (i think) for the front porch. It really makes that area look small and it looks like it will be quiet difficult to move furniture in and out. So i've asked wisdom can we make them smaller and they said probably. They can make them 350mm.
Can people tell me what size piers they have and what they think of them! I think the wisdom Galileo has smaller piers but am not sure!!! Your thoughts/suggestions/measurements would be soooo appreciated!!!! Thanks everyone!

Hi Rachael
i m building single storey aristotle and my porch piers are 470x470 too. never really thought too much of moving furnitures but i reckon with door width of 820, the gap between the piers are definitely larger than this, thus moving should b ok?? hopefully.
Thanks for that! HMMM...our door is actually 1020mm but the gap between the piers in not as wide!! So i think i will try and get them reduce!! hopefully they dont look too skinny!!!
Its all so hard when you havent seen/been into a the same house!!!
Thanks again!!

My builder applied a gas connection to a company on be half of me. and yesterday I got a message from a gas company for a new connection. I haven't talked to them yet. by the way, is it normal to connect the gas and the electricity before construction? Am I going to pay for the connection or any gas/electiricy bill till the construction complete?
Hey Narzis82
Speak to your builder. Connection and anything other than usage you pay for, but usage during building the builder will reimburse you...
There is activity at vacant land playford terrace park. Is the building got approval ? ( I think its for 6 duplex houses ).
Info available at liverpool council website. This has been approved.

Georges Fair is in the Moorebank High intake area.
We lived in Moorebank for a number of years and they based their Year 7 intake on students who were attending the 3 local Government Primary schools - Chippo, Newbridge Heights and Nuwarra. With the influx of families to the Georges Fair area they would have to make allowances for the new arrivals.
Don't think their policies would have changed but when my boys attended there were a lot of kids from the Liverpool area who may now find it harder to enrol due to it being made a selective school.
Quick question. We are currently sitting in council and have been for 5 weeks now. The status is still showing 'Application being assessed'. I was wondering what is the next step after that or does it go straight from that to being approved? It just seems like a long time and I was wondering how long it was for everyone else?
Thanks

Hi Columbo10
from submission to approval, my DA took 7 weeks in the council. after that, WH will provide u final construction plans for signature and also firm up the total variation prices. then it'll take about a month before u see any actions on site.
cheers

Hi,
Ours took 12 weeks to get the council approval unfortunately. After 'Application being assessed' the next is you will get an advise from your builder that they received the stamped DA.
After it had been approved it took another 5-6 weeks before construction commenced (this includes the ordering of supplies, getting the ACC from the bank, etc)
22-Feb-13 - Council received DA application
17-May-13 - Council approved
17-Jul-13 - Complete piering works
24-Jul-13 - Slab poured
Cheers!

Hi there!!
Our plans supposedly went to council on Jan 12th, we got approved on about the 4th April....I spoke to council heaps during this time to see what the hold up was!!
From there, we had to sign our final plans, variations and confirm we could get the $$$ from the bank! We did this very quickly (as like anyone we want to move into our house!) it then took 3 months to finally get the slab down! As of today, our frame is up, windows in and the bricks/concrete etc are ready to go! It has been really exciting the last 3 weeks to actually see our house finally being constructed!!!!

Just completed colour selection and waiting lodge to developer. Hope everything will run smoothly.

PM me your email and I will send you a spreadsheet break up of costs we use, but based on Sydney rates. It should be helpful though so you can gauge what actually goes…
