Oh really? This was taken earlier in the week when we had a few clear days. After the rain yesterday, might be a bit muddy there now!

Update from SS and photo sent showing our first floor views
<I>The upper walls were delivered today and they will be erected Monday. The two plank platform will be installed Tuesday along with the roof truss delivery. </I>
Lol. SS advised today they should be able to raise it by 300mm, which will definitely be above hubby's head height
Great news

Your SS sounds thoughtful. Incredible view!
my wife wanted the undermount ones
i had no say in it. i just pay the bills.
her rationale was that she could "roll" her makeup kit over my sink and then use her area as benchspace... I'm being kicked out of the bathroom before we have even built the place!
Ha ha. And what are you supposed to do while she is using your sink...?! Yep, off to the main bathroom with you!
Totally get it though. Make up + hair dryer + straightener + hair brushes etc.... we need a LOT of space

Gorgeous view Dani!! So glad you could have the window raised by 300mm
Woohoo for upstairs starting soon
Woot! Glad to see those frames up Dani and that view! Wow! Very exciting progress. Try not to stress too much over the size of things now, when it's all done it will surprise you. Can't wait to see more of your selections....
Thanks Mags. You're right! I think I need to actually go out there with a measuring tape. Might be surprised to find things are bigger than they look
We dropped by today, climbed up the ladder (ssshh, don't tell, as probably broke a dozen oh&s laws) and took a ** panoramic shot. It was a lovely sunny day and you could see the water sparkling in the creek ☺
Yep, that's me, getting slightly blown away ha ha. Very windy up top!
Quick poll guys. What do you think of these wall lights for the ensuite?
Planning on having one each side of the vanity. I really like the first one but it has a fabric shade and is not rated for bathroom use. Not sure of this really matters as it is unlikely to get splashed being high up on the wall. The other two are rated for bathroom use and have a opal glass shade which is probably easier to clean.
On another note, hubby gave me the ok to upgrade to an induction cooktop! Saw my sister's one in her new house and could not resist

http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86931I love the first one but I'm a bit biased as it's somewhat similar to what I'm thinking about putting above our bedside tables (except that I've chosen adjustable ones for if we're reading etc in bed). I would've more concerned about the humidity in the air affecting the fabric and that you may end up with mildew or water marks similar to the drip marks you sometimes get on bathroom walls if it streams up a bit. I'd go for the third one with the glass shade for that reason.

I like the first one, but I would be hesitant putting a fabric light fitting in a bathroom for reasons others have mentioned.
Thanks Ladies. Think I'll go with option 3 then
Spoke to SS yesterday. Second storey walls are almost up, roof trusses will go up tomorrow and the roof on next week. Still have to sort that window issue out in the ensuite but should be fine.
Interestingly they haven't done the ground floor back wall yet as you can see in the pic above (the pic is taken from the alfresco). We will have a massive almost floor to ceiling window on the left and a 4.5m stacked door on the right. Perhaps they need the roof trusses up first? Forgot to ask the SS about it.
Eeep! It's looking good so far Dani! And I love those lights

Thanks Hun, nice to have something to actually report for a change!
We are now trying to decide whether to spend a few extra on upgrading the loos and bath. Funny how things you use everyday you don't think or care about and then it's like maybe we do really need the soft close lids... maybe we really should get wall facing...
I've already upgraded the cooktop and we are also changing the study doors to cavity sliders, that's another $1.5k right there straight out of our pocket. It's a slippery, slippery slope...!

http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86931Can you just add soft close toilet lids after handover. I just put one on the toilet in my current house and it was $19.95 from Bunnings.

I wanted back to wall toilets but husband says we can't afford it. He promises to replace the toilets with back to wall ones in a few years. Given that he replaced the toilets in our current place I'm going to hold him to it.
