Hayley and Von your gardens sound beautiful! I love the idea of what you have planned Hayley and can't wait to see it all come together!

Von - do you have any pictures you wouldn't mind sharing of your front landscape?

Our garage door was installed today! Looks like kitchen might go in early next week. I highly doubt tradies will be working Aussie Day!

Funny thing is we technically reached 'lockup' before Chrissy as they had an internal garage door fixed. We are currently in fitout stage

Wow GC it's all looks fabulous! You are flying this year!! So excited to see your vanities and kitchen installed
I like your plant choices
we are having gardinia hedges and they smell Devine the deep green leaved and pretty white flowered are beautiful! The scent they let off is soft and floral but very noticeable! Defs keep them on - the orange spikey flower that is their, is that called "bird of paradise"?? I know that if they aren't maintained and cared for the can look scraggly BUT if you do care for them they look beautiful and catching
I think you will have a nice garden with those choices

Beautiful garden Von, I bet they have loved all the recent rainfall! Thanks for taking those pictures for me
sorry to hear about your mower!

Sky - you have definitely sold me on the gardenia hedges now! They are soooo pretty hey!

How is your build going?? I've been popping by your thread to check every now and then

thanks huni, it's going well, have just had a meeting with the painter and that's all happening, I meet with SS tomorrow morning so will hopefully have some updates on a completion date and timeline until then

Definitely feel like the build is slowing down now the externals are done.... although every week is still progress I guess it just doesn't look as prominent. Do you think the same?

Aw that all sounds great!! Yes I definitely feel the same. Not a whole lot of progress last week, but hoping for kitchens and bathroom vanities installed this week and painting this week or next week

I really love seeing your build come along. Let me know what your expected completion date is. I messaged SS Tuesday last week to ask for update with completion date but hasn't replied yet, so I'll probably send a 'friendly reminder' text tomorrow if no contact lol

Yay for your garage door!! Kitchen already?! How far into your build are you? That's super quick or maybe it just seems super quick cause I'm not really moving lol.

Love your landscaping design, I wish I had developers that would do mine

Thanks CB

This week marks the start of week 14 (including 2 weeks shut-down over Xmas). Hallmark's average build time for a single level home is supposedly approx 15weeks (from start to handover). I spoke to SS today who said we are about 6 weeks away from completion (or maybe handover - not sure lol) so looks like it will be about a 20 week build time all up. Fingers crossed they move faster than that as it's not a massive or overly complication/customised home design.

I probably shouldn't be complaining given all the waiting you have had to do with starting on site! So far we're really happy with the quality of work done so far, and no mistakes at all. Hallmark trades seem to have good attention to detail which we are really thankful for (touch wood).

Plan for next 2 weeks:
- internal doors (hung today I think)
- kitchen this week
- bathroom vanities this week
- tiling starting this Friday or next Monday
- painter starting mid-late next week

Hopefully hubby drives past tomorrow or Wednesday arvy to take some update pics

You should def send a reminder text lol I had to request a meeting with my supervisor too. I told him I have a rental so I need a date. He was really good though
I love watching your build too lol. I use your build so I know what's in the next stage. We have skipped the cabinetry so now I'm all out of whack!

Haha I know right! Builders seem to do some things in reverse! I suppose it mustn't really matter the order of those parts

Jeepers 20 weeks that really sucks! I think I may cry if ours takes that long lol. I'm guessing Christmas time really throws all builds out of whack. 3 and a bit months from when we first started our process and signed land contracts .... We final settle on land 3pm today..... Crazily our Hallmark start date isn't until 28th April so I hope they can start earlier than that- seems like such a long period to wait. ( and we really hate our rental )
At least you get an approximate completion date I guess, could be worse.

We are patiently waiting that's for sure haha! Those extra few weeks won't even matter once we move in though so all is good

The waiting game feels much harder when you can't see progress happening but I'll keep my fingers crossed for an earlier start date for you!

Update from last week's progress (week 14)

Kitchen, bathroom & laundry cabinetry installed
so in love with our charcoal cabinets! ❤️

Tiling is now complete but these are the only pics I have from last Friday while the tiler was still laying them

Week 15 updates:
- tiling finished yesterday
- kitchen benchtops installed yesterday
- painter starting tomorrow

I'm going to sneak out to the house sometime this week to get some updated pics and see what else is happening.

Our PCI date is booked for 15th March, but our SS also said that they will be working hard to make sure that we can get keys and handover as soon as possible!
