LYNDARUM/AURORA/SUMMERHILL ESTATES: Epping, Victoria

Hiya,

We're hoping to build in release 17 in Summerhill. So far nothing has changed with the block. How long does it take from start to finish to put the roads down and put all the drains in and stuff so it is ready for title?

We've had heaps of delays so far, but now they're telling us May for title. We checked the block out again today and nothing has happened?

I'm hoping it would only take a month or two to develop, but I'm not really hopeful for this!!

From my observation, usually from the start to the end, 3-6 months will be my guess depends on the site.

Hi,

We're building in release 17 in Summerhill and waiting for the land to title. There have been a few delays, mainly extended holidays over Christmas but it is apparently still on track to be titled in May. Summerhill update their website with this information also.

http://summerhillliving.com.au/content/ ... on-updates

Have you already purchased a block there?
Hi Clare-Elise,

I saw you on here mid-last year, I didn't realise you were building in the same release as me also. Good to know that there is someone else.

I contacted the land sales guy last week, and they're now saying the settlement is due June or July. Late last year they said it would title May and be due for settlement June but then he slipped 'July' into the email, hoping I wouldn't notice! I've also spoken to the head office about the lack of communication and the fact that we've always had to follow up for info about the settlement. In December we got sent an email update and that was about two days after I complained to head office about their lack of communication, they said they'd email us regularly from then on but nothing has happened, it even took a whole week and 3 emails to get a response about the updated settlement expectations.

Frustrating!

If that's what the design guideline says, you will have to follow, otherwise your design won't be approved by Places of Victoria. I think the best person you should talk to is Sonya in PV as she's in charge of Aurora design approval.
Hi,
I am so confused, i am hoping someone can help me regarding this FTTH..

I am moving to Aurora so i rang my ISP ( IINET) to organise the move and to my shock they told me i may not be able to get internet there. They told me they will have to send a Telstra guy 1st to do i think she said a ''299'' connection and then see from there.

After searching the net about this i now find out about this FTTH but im struggling to find out what the current situation is.
From what i have read, IINET is one of the limited providers so why would IINET say they likely cannot connect me.

I have a vicurban box inside my house so does that mean the FTTH is available or are there parts of Aurora still not connected to it yet? How can i find this out?

Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks

Jesse

If you had read previous posts you should have learned that there are two ISPs (iinet and iprimus) providing internet/phone connection in Aurora. The person you talked to from iinet sounds to me he/she doesn't know much, or they put you through to the wrong person?

Aurora is only providing fibre optical connection, look up this iinet page which providing the FTTH plan info and the phone number: http://www.iinet.net.au/fibre/plans.html

Hope it helps.
Thanks,
I was hoping they had got it wrong, i thought it was stange a house that had existed for a year wouldnt be able to get internet.
We shall see..

Thanks again.
According to Oliver Hume works for Release 17 at Summerhill were due to commence today the 4/3. Is anyone able to confirm that they have started?

Its a good hours drive from where we currently live so are trying to hold off from visiting for another month and don't want to be dissapointed.
Hi All.

I had a neighbor asking me about Mice today... I haven't personally seen any in my house our yard for about a year, (which allot of people saw them about then in the area as well).

Also on another note how did everyone go with the grass fires in the area last month?
Nope haven't seen a mouse for over a year! Fingers crossed. Bushfires fine though probably wouldn't want to be on the fringes of thee Estate.
I've been in Lyndarum estate - stage 24 I think it was - since December 2009.
I just thought I would check if Optus home line rental is available yet and unbelievably it still is not!
Only choice seems to be Telstra for home phone.
Does anyone know anything about this? Will Optus ever be in this area?

Copper line is phasing out if you haven't heard. When you have NBN, you can choose your phone which runs though your fibre cable from any ISPs.
Hi All,
Just moved in to my new home. Its been 2 years . But worth it .I just noticed that there are small cracks started appearing between wall and ceiling . Some people say its normal . The builder will fix it on 3 months inspection . Just needs you guys opinion.
Also I am having issues with TV . When I am trying to plug my TV cable to FTTH point . I don't get all the channels . My TV is 5 years OLD . I am using set box . Set up box scans for the available channels but I can only watch ABC and channel Nine . No channel 7 , 10 , SBS . I had an portable antenna . I used it with the set up box . Now I can watch all the TV channels . Does anyone else have same issues

Thanks
Edgars Road,

You need to ring Places Victoria FTTH team in order to get TV connected if you do not want phone and internet and you need to contact iprimus and iinet to if you want tv phone and internet, .

It will take approx 3 weeks to get TV connected.

I've been waiting 7 weeks so far and their next estimate is 'next week'.
Thanks ashrey , I should have written before that I have got the internet connection already . It took us 1.5 weeks . I am with IINET . On the same day when I got internet , I rang Places victoria FTTH team , they told me my TV is active but I am not getting all the channels .I have checked almost all the points at home . The lady on the phone from Places victoria said if they sent the technician and the fault is not theirs then it will cost us $279 thats why I wanted know if there are any issues.

Thanks
I have had no issues with tv once the FTTH guy came and worked on the box outside. All channels works fine. However I am having issues with VOIP. Iinet said it will take 48 hours to get VOIP its been a week and still no VOIP.
