Hey Jclw, how're you going with the build? The slab will be poured on our block on Monday

Are you getting the concreter to do the paving around the property after the build is completed? Are you getting the driveway from SJD? If not then who you going with? If you could please share the concreter's details as we are getting the driveway and alfresco area done later on. Cheers

Wow! How exciting is that! Seeing the slab makes it real
.
We decided to get it done with SJD. $10k to do everything is worth it for us. Drive way, alfresco and around the house 1m wide.
Our build is progressing at a great rate. We are hoping to be at lockup before Christmas

Yes, am amazed at the speed. No compromise to quality as it's been top quality right throughout. Bar has been set very high.

Good to know!!!

The slab is done but it looks small. We are building 32 sq but this doesn't look big. Is that normal??

Wow! Looks really good.
When ours was laid, we thought the same. Looks small. But is not the case.
It's common. Now we think, big house. Now that it has the frame and bricks

Ground floor bricks look done

Yea!!
I hope so!!

Ok so heres my update - I'm so disspointed with SJD. I introduced myself a few months back, we're building in Bunyip. We signed our contracts and had our finance approval back in early September. The first day on the job we were told our driveway, which is over 50 metres long, is too wet, the trucks are sinking. Our responsibility to fix it, so heres your bill for $3000. The very next day, its still too wet, we need to stop for at least 2 weeks. 65 days later, we're ready to commence site cut. That was November the 11th. Waiting, waiting, waiting for a slab. Its dry for 2 weeks, they do nothing, its starts raining when they want to do something, too wet. Lets stop again. Now I'm told we're not getting a slab til after Janurary when everyones back at work. I am so frigging cross at this. I've seen entire house built in this time frame and we cut even get a slab. Very disheartening reading other posts about how quickly things are moving. Feel like we've been put on the back burner.
