Building with Statesman? Would you be my pacing partner?

Well we have our PCI on Wednesday, will let you know how we go!
That is great news

You guys all getting finished is really getting my hopes up!

We are supposed to be locked out today, I can't wait to go up after work and have a look!
Yeah we are looking forward to the big move, will be in there asap!

Did you get lock up netadelle?? Here's to hoping you did!
how is everyone else going with there builds??

BB how was your inspection?
Netadelle are you at lockup yet?

Well we have been in our house for a week now. We have had some issues mainly with the AC not being plumbed in to water and after blowing **** up our SS and statesman on Tuesday it was fixed at 9pm Tuesday night. Our next issue is that we ordered our rangehood canopy in May when we did our selections and now they tell us they cannot find one in the Country...not just the state but all of OZ....go figure...Ames is now ringing the SS instead of me to get it done...hopefully before XMAS would be nice....

Apart from all this the house is great...love the design and the space. We have left it pretty neutral in colours but have our glass spalshback going in on Thursday. Its called firecracker red so should look bloody hot in our kitch with the stainless steel shelving instead of overhead cupboards...gotta love IKEA for finding stuff for houses. When its finished I will post some photos.
hey craigandamy that is great!!! Glad to hear you guys are settling in, can't wait to see the splashbak, that sounds freaking awesome!!
Can't wait to see some pics, is so damn busy at this stage though, especially with Xmas who has time?!

Our inspection went really well, not too much to fix up, a few cosmetic things, one cupboard door has a chip and won't be replaced til after Christmas and we need a new rangehood too, hopefully before Xmas depending on stock, time, etc...

Have lots to do now, we are getting things delivered today and will be moving in to stay for our first night tonight!! Got our rubble delivered and down ready for paving (in the next couple of weeks hopefully), and got fencing delivered. Will be digging stormwater tomorrow, but will be hiring a dingo...
But will be busy doing curtains, etc tonight and possibly blinds tomorrow as well... on top of that everyone wants to come over... will be hectic I think

Overall extremely happy with it all!! Love our wall colour (smoke pearl) is exactly what we wanted as it stands out from the white skirting, framing and doors! Carpet and tiles are great, especially the bathroom! The esky was a nice touch too... tape measure has come in handy as my other one broke
Exciting times!

Well done also to netadelle for reaching lock up! I love the colours on your house, the bricks look soooo good! (Jealous...!)
CraigandAmy - can't wait to see pics of your splash back with the stainless steel stuff. Sounds like a great idea! I went fantasy shopping in IKEA yesterday, fantatsising about the kids rooms and what I could put in them.

BB - what esky?

Pics guys I need pics

We have a bathtub and internal doors.
Apparantly the kitchen goes in Monday - however I got a phone call on Friday, they have run out of the white valencia benchtop and did I want to use Anartic stone instead??!! Umm NO! My whole house design and EVERYTHING is based around the white valencia, that is the first thing I fell in love with.

So they will put in half the kitchen, but it shouldn't affect the rest of the build, they should keep going on.

We got another payment request on Friday. So ummm we might sign it and give it to the bank Thursday, at 3pm.....
the esky is your handover gift full of stuff...

getting our splashback thursday and rangehood on tuesday, will post photos over the xmas
Hey all, sorry for the lack of pics/updates! Have only been able to sneak on this at work and can't upload pics... Will have the computer set up soon

We have been in for a couple of weeks and all is going really well! The driveway and front paths are being done today and most of our fences are up now! Pics soon... I promise...
Whose doing your driveway? what are you having done? my task this week is to get quotes for the driveway, but we have no idea what we want to do
We are going through GTS Concrete, they came highly recommended and have been excellent so far

We are paving our driveway with a herringbone pattern (sp? I think!) it is the rectangular pavers arranged like an 'L' shape, in a charcoal colour with a sadstone border as well as our front paths. We are concreting the side of the house along the road where the tool shed will be (no one will really see it anyway), and paving our outdoor pergola area in a sandstoney colour with charcoal border to match the front! Will look really good! We should have the driveway and front path paved, our concrete path and rest of the fence finished by Thurs!
We also purchased our letter box so will need that up in the next day or so!

What are your plans for landscaping netadelle?? You should just have a nosey at what others are doing and try to work around that
Hey BB, your driveway and other paving sounds brilliant. Be sure to post pics when it is all done. As you said,
BoulevardBuilder
You should just have a nosey at what others are doing and try to work around that
. What you describe sounds like the kind of thing we will be after.
As promised some pics...

Hope that isn't too many pics! Need some of the furnished rooms now...
Great pics!! I love your driveway, looks great.

Can you do me a favour, can you measure how high the railing is in your WIR? Hubby wants to order a data cabinet tommorow and he wants to know how much space he has. I'm guessing it is about 1800.

I love the colours in your kitchen! It is what I was thinking of doing before we decided to go grey! Is that white glass splashback or just tiles? It looks like a big white glass splashback.

Did you get Statesman to do the floor tiles? Or did you get someone to come in and do them seperate?

It all looks fantastic. There can never be to many pictures
Hi BB,

Your house is looking gorgeous. So many of your colours are so similar to what we have selected. Your kitchen looks brilliant (I think the cubpoard doors are the same colour as what we have chosen - I hope ours turns out at least half as good as yours and we'll be happy). The tiles in both the bathrooms and hallway look similar to ours too. We are also planning on a charcoal driveway. It's so nice to see most of what we have selected all put together in your house to give us an idea of what is to come. We haven't quite reached lock up, so all of this is a bit further down the track. I guess that's what makes it so exciting to be watching your house evolve. Congratulations. Love all the pics and I agree with Netadelle - 'Never too many'.
Thanks netadelle and TamDaz for the kind words!!
We wanted everything to be fairly neutral for resale but still have a bit of character to it!!

Will measure the rail in the WIR's tonight and let you know, I think it is about 1800 high as well, just a smidge above my head!
In the kitchen it is just the standard white tiles, no pattern or splashnack, we were really suprised how good it all turned out, considering most of it was from the standard range! (Event he carpet which unfortunately stains quite easily - see the pic!
)

Yup, statesman did all the tiling throughout and the tile was from the standard range, not bad for standard really!

Yeah we were really happy with the kitchen TamDaz, although my partner wanted white to open it up a bit... not that she made it too clear for me being a male and all! Thanks again, we are happy with the colours as I am sure you will be, hopefully you reach lock up soon as they seem to go really quickly through the stages

I thought as much about the pics, will keep them coming and will hopefully post some up of the furnished rooms, etc!
Hi all. It has been some time since I looked at the forum and there are some lovely photos. I am glad everything seems to be going OK for everyone.

Wow BoulevardBuilder - your house looks great. Love the bathroom tiles. The contrast with the wall colour and cornices is lovely. You must be very happy with your choices, it all looks fantastic.

Our house is cruising along, (apart from the Christmas/New Year slump). We had the bath put in yesterday - still no front door and no ceiling in the alfresco, verandah and eaves. They came and measured for the roller doors a couple of weeks ago, but we haven't seen anything come yet. They did take away the skip today though - and put an empty one in its place.

We have no idea what comes next. When do the walls get painted? I gather that nothing else really gets done inside until the house can be locked up...am I right? This is all new to us, and we really have no idea.

I wanted to post some photos - but am having no end of trouble. I can post to my blog, but I struggle to get them here. Sorry, I will keep trying when I am not so tired.
AndyStew, your house is coming along well (just checked out your blog). Like you I'm not all that sure of the processes, yet, looking at your house I was surprised to see that had put in the bath and laundry trough before lock up. (I know, I know, it's not like someone could just pick up a bath and walk out with it, but it's still stuff inside your house that could get damaged by those having a sticky beak). Are you looking forward to lock up taking place? We were locked out yesterday and now I just wish I could get inside.
TamDaz, we too thought it was a bit odd - but hey, we really have no idea about all of this. But...as of today, we are officially locked out.

We went there late this afternoon, and the front door is on and the shoppers entry door is also on. So technically speaking, we are now locked out. It will be difficult to go there all the time (we are only living 5 minutes away) - and not be able to get inside to see how it is all going. We will just have to look through the windows.
Hey everybody,

Just thought I would let you know we got our keys on Thursday

So from when we where 'released to construction' it took 174 days to get the keys

Photos are on my thread.
