Mona, usually the driveway crossing is plain (council requirement) but you can do yr own driveway style (different colour, surface texture,etc). However if the council need to repair or fix your driveway cruising then they will dig up yr driveway and install pls in concrete after they are finished. The risk is up to you to take.

Better to keep plain esp in scenario you mention, and also if someone damages it.

It's so difficult dealing with trades i find. No offense...but we have struggled to form a good group of people we can rely on.

Take photos and give it to the police but wouldn't expect much, don't worry too much it can be fixed pretty easy looking at it.
