Jess I think Ford & Doonan called us roughly around lock up time, they're awesome & send a list of all the prices, it makes it so easy

Thanks Dee! PCI went really well

we have a list of all of 2x minor issues haha it's good to see that they made the most of the time the house was sitting there. I think they are itching for that final payment now so shouldn't be too far off

Hey while I remember, do you guys know what happens with your original deposit? I'd forgotten all about it and was wondering if it comes off the final payment?

Hey Dee, ours came off the final payment! We were told by our supervisor that our house would be ready by today the latest and that we could start organising a date to pick our keys up with our CLO. We are in the process of organising home insurance first and then the bank will be out to do their valuation before they authorise final payment to be made. I'm thinking we will get our keys next week if not the week after depending on when the bank gets in

Hi Jess, if your bank happens to be ANZ they have a very good policy which is underwritten by QBE. I can't comment on price but the coverage is great. You can possibly even get insurance with them without banking through them anyway.

Seems like only yesterday we were all starting out & waiting for our slabs! lol

We're with QBE atm , but I got quotes from all of the major insurers. RAC were the most reasonable, QBE wanted nearly $1800 more a year for the exact same house/contents policy?! Even when I rang them and asked what the go was they wouldn't lower it, so I think we'll be giving RAC a try

Look for an accidental damage policy rather than a defined events policy, you can get accidental damage policies through QBE, CGU, Lumley etc. Much better coverage and limits for the most part than defined events policies. The premium is a little bit more but much better value for what you get in return. Lumley replaced the vinyl flooring which flowed through our entire open plan living area, laundry, hallways and entry after we ripped it in the kitchen while moving our fridge.

Well it's official, Home Group have received our final payment and we will be picking up our keys on Monday 🤗🎉🔑
