Mine is a 29sq house and I paid to upgrade to engineered timber Bordeaux oak wide board approx 10k. This was only ground floor. Doesn't include wet areas of course

Thanks. I guess engineered timber is more expensive than vinyl or laminate?
Would like to know if anyone upgraded to vinyl or laminate to replace tiles or carpet for both floors. How was the pricing by Clarendon?
We went with vinyl downstairs apart from the home theatre and then upgraded to platinum range carpet and a better underlay for just under $11k in June last year. No carpet or vinyl on the stairs though as treads will be Vic ash.

Madison 37 - site start 16.2.16
We've just been told that basic painting only includes 1 base coat and 1 colour coat...did anyone stay with this or did everyone pay the 1500 to upgrade to 2 colour coats?
Seems the further along this process we get, the more bombs are dropped on us!

We did the basic paint. I dislike the flat paint. A small bump on the wall and it comes off (maybe paint prep and not paint itself) and it shows marks everywhere. The patch painting they did to fix up issues can be seen from the sides but not front on - so meets standards. Not sure if the two coat would be better but if I had my time again I would have done low sheen on the walls at least.

Definitely worth getting 3-coat system. Will post pictures tomorrow after our walk through.

Awesome.. Can't wait to see your kitchen finished as those are the colours im looking at doing this time. I got the sample of the natural oak and it matches my current floor (parador trendtime 6 oak castell limed) exactly. Ill have to post a photo.. it seriously looks exactly the same. I love my floor and am seriously considering using it again with this build.
Nice progress mrrrrt! Paging all brickies please call Adam M so he could continue on our bricks, 12 weeks to date and did not even finish the ground floor ;-( , we'll just hope we could still move in before Christmas.....
That sucks Rogy. I'm sure it won't make you feel better to know I'm almost at week 20. And only half my bricks done. No brickie for the past month.

We are about to build again.. a Fairmont 38 this time so hopefully our build will be just as quick this time.
