Feeling a little embarrassed this week, our demolition finished 2 weeks ago and once it was done I told the demo mob to remove their fencing and equipment ASAP. Then I contacted council to organise my post demolition inspection as per our council requirements with demolitions. So the council inspector gives me a ring from the site yesterday saying where's your fencing and signage? And I said I told the demo company to take it down. And he said the site needs to have temporary fencing up from demolition right through to the build. Oops.
Luckily he was very nice about it and said we wouldn't get fined as it was an honest mistake, he just said we needed to get the proper fencing up ASAP.
So I contacted M and they said we can use their temporary fencing company at our cost until the build starts and then they'll take responsibility for payment when the take possession of our site.
Phew! $330 later we will have temporary fencing on our site in Monday.
Good news is our pool installation begins on Monday - so exciting!!!

Very honest mistake M and T! I wouldn't have known that a fence would need to stay either!
How long do they expect before being onsite?
Oops!! At least you've been able to resolve it! Exciting news regarding the pool!
Quick question how long did your pool approval take?
We had to pay extra to keep our temp fence from Demo till M installed theirs! Thank God the council was not too nasty about it.
Who is doing your pool M and T. Are you doing a concrete or fibreglass pool?

I'm not really sure how long it took because the pool guy took care of it all through a certifier. We gave him plenty of notice and then we were so delayed in Metricon's admin process that I didn't even take notice of how long the pool took to get approved. I think if it's done through a certifier the delay shouldn't be excessive though.

The pool will be fibreglass. I would have loved concrete because I think you can get that perfect light shimmery blue colour with tiles in a concrete pool but unfortunately we couldn't afford it. We ended up going with Coral Reef Pools on recommendation by someone so hopefully it will still look beautiful!

Kylz, I'm not really sure as they said they can't do our construction drawings until the pool is in and we officially say we're ready for M. Our contact said it's an average of 20 days though from when construction certificate is ready.
I hear you're on your way, that's fantastic, you must be so excited to be out of admin and seeing some progress on site!

We also went with a fibreglass pool as it felt like better value for money. Now having second thoughts given all the issues we are experiencing.

Oops hope I don't get a fine, as soon as we finished demo we also had the fence removed it's been sitting like that for five months guess my council don't care.
How close is the pool to your house?
We were told because it is within 3 meters of the house M said we had to wait for piercing to be done. Reading the contract this is BS but didn't want to put the pool in and then council puts some stupid rule on it, we were also worried that they might make us shift our house a bit.

Don't worry, my fencing issue was only a problem because our council requires a post demolition inspection, otherwise it would never have been picked up unless someone complains or gets injured on the block.
Re: pool, we were also told that if the pool is within 3m of the home then Metricon would have to do piering first and then the pool can be installed. This can be time consuming as M comes in first and then stops for the pool builder and then comes back on the scene when the pool builder puts the cover on the pool. I wonder whether M charges for the piering also?? It is for this reason that we decided to push our pool further back so that it sits around 4m from our alfresco. I have to admit I love the pools that are right next to the alfresco area, they look amazing! Good luck with yours!

viewtopic.php?t=78985I didn't realise yours was fibreglass, I just assumed it was concrete as apparently it is quite common to have leakage with a new concrete pool. Who installed your pool?

viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81978https://metriconhenderson.wordpress.comIt depends on a number of factors basically our pool is roughly 1.5 meters from the house and will be slightly higher so I was told no extra piercing is needed so not extra charges. Our pool guys told us that depending how close it is to the house and levels will determine how much the pool with put pressure on the slab so given ours is higher we put the shallow end near the house to reduce the impact and this way if there is any movement in the pool it is more likely to move away from the house.

That's lucky you won't need the piering! I bet it will look amazing once it's done
