Sounds like there isn't too much left to do. Hopefully you get a PCI date soon!

Yay Mrs! Love to see stuff getting done! Still a long list but hopefully they'll get through it quickly.

Love the ensuite shower screen - we are having very similar!

For your kitchen handles, check out a website called Handle House. Another member told me about them and they have a great selection

I'll have to check them out Dani, thanks for the recommendation

I've been looking at light fittings though, what are everybody's opinions on these?

For the master bedroom:

For the ensuite two of these with one centred above each basin:

For the kitchen three of these Ines above the island:

For the front hallway at the base of the staircase:

Above the staircase landing:

In the three minor bedrooms I'm thinking a basic flush mount oyster light, nothing exciting, then a few downlights in the open plan area, theatre, study, alfresco and hallways. Not sure about the downstairs bathroom or laundry as yet?

I love pendants!! The kitchen island ones are amazing! We are doing two feature pendants on either side of our bed and three above our kitchen island! There's sooo many to choose from and I love them all! I think they'll all look great!

Lovely choices! They'll go with everything. The only think I worry about when choosing glass pendants is them getting dusty and requiring constant cleaning! But I totally love the look

Thanks m0llss! Lighting is so hard, there's literally so many choices and trying to tie everything together is hard. I was thinking if I stick with the black throughout the ground floor to "ground" all the white and lighter colours in that space and I can tie it in with some little touches of black in the accessories then go with the other ones for our upstairs master bedroom because I want that to be really light, airy and relaxing. I thought maybe it'd be nice for the upstairs bedroom to have a slightly different vibe to the rest of the house so it really feels like a retreat?

Oh yes that is a problem but you got that with any light fittings, we used to pull all the glass shades off the light fittings every so often at our last house and wash them to get rid of dust and little bugs which are attracted to the light. I actually found the flush mount oyster lights worse because they got both dusty and the little bugs would get trapped inside whereas the pendant shades just got dusty!

Yes that's a great idea. Considering the upstairs space is smaller and less open if there's bedrooms, it will help to brighten it up and seem a bit more open. Less is more in that sense too! It all looks really good and I can't wait to see it all come together

Hi Mrs Doe
Beacon Lighting have an app where you can snap a pic of your house and then place a light in there to see what it could potentially look like. Pendant lighting above the counter will look great!! We have gone for 2 big feature lights above our dining table from Freedom, they also have some great lights. How exciting for you, not long to go now
Love all those lights!!

Its so hard making all the decisions, isn't it!
I make myself feel better by thinking that I've already made the big $$ decisions (block, house builder, house design etc), if I make a mistake with some of the decorating its nowhere near as costly to fix/change.....
Still feel stressed tho, but not quite as stressed.

Oh that's a good idea, unfortunately the only light fitting I like from Beacon is the drum pendant I'm eyeing for the master bedroom. Last time we built I think I bought all our light fittings at Beacon but this time there's not a lot there that I'm in love with.

Yes this is so true, I've been accumulating bits and pieces for he house over the last six months though so now it's getting everything to work together nicely so I've been obsessing over the lighting a bit
. I've bought a new dining table, stools for the island, couch and dining table plus I've just had Mr Doe pick up a second hand coffee table from Gumtree earlier this week that I'm going to start sanding back this weekend and refurbish because I couldn't find anything in the shops which suited but now I'm trying to imagine kitchen, light fittings, paint colour, furniture etc all in one space and how they're going to look. Stressful is an understatement

Balustrade and handrail to staircase has been installed (that's my little monster in the background
):

First interior clean has been done so it was nice seeing the benches uncovered, clean tiles and stickers removed from shower screens etc. Mixers have also been replaced with the correct ones:

Kitchen mixer which has been sitting on the bench for the last couple weeks has finally been installed

Ducting has been rerouted correctly along the wall of the storeroom and they've told us the replacement doors and panels for the kitchen are due to arrive next week to be installed. Some of the small items I picked up with the supervisor at the last meeting are due to be fixed tomorrow too. Everything seems to be coming along and starting to come together.

Looks great Mrsdoe!!!

Well aren't you handy sanding back a table! Good on you.

House looks lovely nice and clean. I think we are totally having the same kitchen sink and tap - very good taste!

If you're having no joy with Beacon try Lighting Superstore online. The have a huge range, a bit cheaper, and you can shop by style e.g. Hamptons, modern etc.

Mr Doe dropped by this afternoon while he was in the area after a meeting and they've installed our timber venetians, most of the framing around the air con ducting in the store room, towel rails, wardrobe railings and were putting the skirt boards in upstairs. Hoping that means flooring goes in soon, the painter and cabinet maker are definitely supposed to be there this week based on the emails we've received. Starting to get excited like it's almost here!

That's awesome! Getting close now. Jealous of the timber venetians. My folks have them in their place but our budget didn't stretch that far

We've only put them in the bedrooms and theatre for now and will deal with the rest of the windows later on. We went into Curtain World last week to get a quote for the linen sheers I want for the three open plan living area windows and a blockout for the theatre and I almost fell off my seat at the sale price let alone the full cost of them so it'll much, muuuuuccchh later
